About Us

Dr. Andrew J. Epstein graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Upstate Medical University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the George Washington University Medical Center, and his cornea and external eye disease fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Epstein is board-certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

As a comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist, Dr. Epstein specializes in all aspects of eye care including the treatment of cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, dry eye disease, and macular degeneration. Today’s advanced cataract surgery affords patients the opportunity to minimize the need for glasses after surgery. Dr. Epstein employs all the latest technological advancements to let patients achieve this goal with astigmatism-correcting, extended depth of focus, and multifocal intraocular lenses. “Most importantly,” he notes, “education and communication with the patient are key.” He takes the time to assess each patient’s individual needs for the best possible outcome. Dr. Epstein, a repeat “Best Doctors in Connecticut” recipient, attributes the success of his practice to open and candid communication with every patient, easy accessibility to his staff, and a warm and welcoming office environment.

Dr. Epstein lives in Northern Connecticut with his wife and two children. When not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
